DoK stands for Dorf-Kunst and 15518 is the postal code of this region. DoK 15518 is the emergence of a socio-culturally sustainable cultural hub in rural areas by linking three collaboration partners: LandKunstLeben e.V. have been promoting contemporary art, international exchange and socio-spatial structures locally for many years. Haus des Wandels e.V. and ZUSANE e.V. are newer cultural venues in the context of which both artists and cultural workers and their ways of life have settled in the region. As one of Brandenburg's nine cultural anchor points ("kulturelle Ankerpunkte Brandenburgs"), we explore the question of how collaborative and diverse regional development can function from below.

In the form of a cultural syndicate, DoK 15518 is intended to support and promote the various strands of cultural work of the individual projects in the long term. The goal is to organize resources from event technology to publicity towards sustainable and collaborative use.

Cross-project and cross-generational collaboration

We combine over 25 years of experience in the successful implementation of cultural projects in the region through LandKunstLeben e.V. (LKL) as a supporting association with the new creative places Haus des Wandels e.V. (HdW) and Zusammen in Neuendorf S.A.N.D.E. e.V. (ZUSANE). This collaboration has already been in the making for 3 years and is constantly expanding itself. Old hands and newcomers learn here from each other experiences and carry the already existing local cultural work into the future. Together we develop ways of a cross-generational and cross-project cultural practice, a neighborly design of living space on a large area.

Processes of making visible

Art creates reality that can be shared, and is a tool to make visible and retell stories of diverse togetherness. What needs more space? What lies fallow? What forms and structures are already there, who or what wants to connect or just needs support to be seen?

Art and cultural production in the countryside

Does being in the countryside mean being on the edge? Yes, but here there is room for beginnings and events. Something is happening in the countryside. In the beautiful and difficult landscape of Brandenburg, we navigate through the contradictions and are inspired by resistances. The land is full of stories. The old ones that already exist and the new ones that are just emerging: A playing field that gives room for impulses, an experimental site that invites new descriptions. Although the land is emptying, gaps are also air holes through which fresh wind blows. Life forms mingle. Perforated spaces give place to performances.
