Lina Hansen: An introduction to ecofeminism. About feminist struggles in the streets, at the kitchen table, in the fields and in the forest.

The reading provides insights into ecofeminist movements past and present. What do ecology and feminism have to do with each other? We learn what is behind the term "ecofeminism" and how we can use it to understand and change the current destructive conditions for people and the environment.

Thinking feminist, ecological and decolonial issues together, as ecofeminists already did in the 1970s, places life - and not just human life - at the focus of analysis and political action. Lina Hansen shows how ecofeminism manages to highlight the connection between different structures of domination and to think together the domination over women, queer, migrant, racialized people and other marginalized groups with the domination over nature.

QUEER GARDENING

The documentary examines what horticultures look like when binaries such as nature/culture, human/more-than-human and body/environment are deconstructed in creative ways.
Ella von der Haide collected 18 interviews with LGBTQIA*-gardeners about their relationships with plants and the land. These conversations take place in a variety of gardens, from urban vegetable production in Oakland to a community space garden in NYC, from a project to care for indigenous native apple trees in British Columbia to a reforestation project in Tennessee.
